Bio:

Woody Eastman began performing his original music in the summer of 1981 in the Houston/Lake Jackson area. His musical background stems from being a member of the award-winning Pearland High School Band, in which he played tenor saxophone. A self-taught guitar player, Woody began writing his own songs in the mid 1980s and recorded his first CD of original music in 2004, produced by Larry Nye (La-Z-L Studio, Kingsland, TX).

Asked about artists who inspire him, Woody said, "Dan Fogelberg is my all-time favorite hands down. I like the messages in his songs, the melodies, and his versatility. Mike Blakely is also one of my all-time favorites: Great melodies, and lyrics are pretty amazing...like painting a picture with words. Also, I'd say Walt Wilkins is right there. Like Mike, he somehow writes a song where you can clearly see the story."

Woody played in a number of musical combos, primarily duos and 3-piece groups, through the 80s. In the early 90s, he began performing primarily as a solo act, and began playing more of his original tunes.

After 28 years of living on the Texas Gulf Coast, he retired from his post as director of Parks & Recreation with the City of Lake Jackson in the summer of 2009, and moved to the Texas Hill Country. Woody now resides in Llano, TX, with his brown dog, .

His newest album, "Pearly Gates Saloon," was released in March, 2014. This album comprises of  12 of Woody's original songs. Woody is accompanied by great musicians inluding Larry Nye, Mike Blakely, Annie Blakely, John Arthur Martinez, Kurt Baumer, Lloyd Maines, Buddy Case, Larry Boyd, Dana Keller, Shane Lively, and Jason Wharton.
